1. Location

4. Being aware of availability
Modern real estate is at your fingertips. Newspapers, property publications, real estate offices and the Internet are all good places to begin your search. Each week we post a list of open homes for the coming weekend and you are invited to register on this site to receive automatic notification of properties that may suit your needs.

5. Knowing local values

6. Your ideal property
Upon finding a property that suits your requirements, a building inspection and an independent valuation are highly recommended.

7. Concluding a Sale
Once your offer has been written and negotiations are finalised, you will sign the contract of sale, and pay a negotiated deposit. Copies of the contract will be sent to your solicitor so it is a good idea to have your preferred solicitor’s details available. If you have not yet chosen a solicitor your helpful agent will be able to offer names of a number of local conveyance specialists.

8. Settlement Day
Congratulations! Financial transactions are completed and you will now have ownership of the property. Before settlement day, you may request a pre-settlement inspection of the property to ensure nothing has changed in its status since purchase and agreed chattels are in place. Once all settlement procedures have been finalised the keys will be given to you.
